Facebook and the Pathwords AppA Look At The Most Addicting Social Bookmarking Application
It may be a simple word puzzle game, but not since Tetris has a game been so addictive.
Pathwords is a challenging puzzle game from the same folks who brought “Challenge Sudoku” to the world, Zynga. It resembles a bit like the game Boggle, and played similarly as well. Currently (as of this article’s writing) the game of Pathwords has a rating of 4.4 out of a possible 5 with 83 reviews at Facebook. It also has 12,524 fans with 828,445 users per month. Puzzle lovers can find it in the gaming category “Just for Fun”. Currently on the Zynga site it is showing a daily user average of 95,960 fans. How to Play PathwordsRemember playing those word hunt crossword puzzle games where there were words that could be circled in a looping array not just straight like a normal word hunt puzzle? Players could spend hours casually looking for words hidden in the array of letters, sometimes having those words given to them on the side. This game is just like that, you find a word, “circle” the word, and then that word will “fall off” and other letters will drop down into the slots that were vacated by those letters. However, there are no hints and no list of words that are in the puzzle on the side like the old pen and pencil game. With the letters of the word the player finds dropping off the puzzle entirely, it makes the player have to think ahead of themselves in the puzzle, as they aren’t able to use those letters again in the game. Playing Pathwords With FriendsThere are different ways that a user can be on Facebook and play Pathwords with their friends, however be warned that once you start it is very easy to lose hours to this game. There are some Facebook profiles that are set up solely for the intent and purpose to play this game. Players can try to beat another player’s score while they are in the Ladder mode (A ranking level of the game), host a game, or have their own score for other player’s to attempt to beat. While there is plenty of competitive action in the puzzle games, there is not any actual “PvP” play (Player versus Player), there isn’t that live battle. In that sense the gamer is playing against themselves to try to outscore others. This game doesn’t have the graphics or the blood and guts feel of a Mafia Wars type game, but there are many fans that are finding themselves captive to the game day after day on Facebook.
